Özgür Soner

Ozgur Soner (DoB. 1978 / Istanbul) started making video games in 1988 with his ZX spectrum. He graduated from the German system gymnasium, Istanbul Erkek Lisesi (in 1997) and got his BSc. in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.

His professional game development career started back in 2002 at Dinc Interactive which later became a Turk Telekom Group game company, Sobee Studios. During his 10 years at Sobee Studios, he developed and published many successful game titles.

Ozgur has special expertise in mid-high scale massively multiplayer online games. He lead, programmed and designed most of the renowned game projects developed in Turkey. His game titles include:

  • Istanbul Kiyamet Vakti (MMORPG 800.000 players)
  • ‘I Can Football 1 & 2’ (MMO Sports Game with 500.000 players)
  • ‘Semih Sayginer’s Billiard Magic’ (MMO Billiard/Pool Game with 1.5 million players)
  • ‘Football Manager Online’ (Multiplayer Online Football Manager Game, over 2 million players)
  • Several mobile and browser games like ‘1 Man 1 Team’, ‘Backgammon Online’, ‘Battleship Online’ and ‘Chaos Ruler for Nintendo Gameboy Advance’.

His projects got international and local awards like ‘World Communication Awards 2010’ , ‘TUBITAK, TTGV ve TUSIAD Technology Award’, ‘GameX Video Game Awards 2012’, ‘Crystal Pixel 2012’ and some of his projects have been exported to MENA region.

After he left his position in 2012 as Chief Technology Officer at Sobee Studios, he founded the game production companies MadByte Games, IZE Gaming and Elite Game Studio together with his very senior developer friends and key persons of Turkish game industry. Lokum Games, Turkey’s only production enabled publishing company is found by the same group of friends to bring a change to game publishing in Turkey.

He is educating many people among InGame Group to share his professional know-how in game industry.

His main focus is directing  development and publishing processes of high quality games that are aimed towards global success with their inspiring art, unique design and cutting edge technology.
